Továbbá a nemzetségnél megjegyzi:
Philadelphus L.-Hydrangeaceae
The mock oranges, often erroneously called syringa, are an indispensable genus of shrubs, comprising some 80 species in northern temperate regions and giving a good display even on the poorest chalk soils. Most have fragrant flowers, produced in June and July. These are pure white unless otherwise described. Prune immediately after flowering: thin out and cut back old flowering shoots to within a few centimetres of the old wood. Many of the finest hybrids and cultivars were rised by the French nursery firm Lemoine durring the early years of the 20th century. Unless otherwise stated the cultivars reach a height of 1,8-2,4 m.
